About Making Melody

     Hello and welcome to Making Melody! I'm Lisa Rushing and I'm excited to share with you some of the songs the Lord has given me over the years.

     I'm so thankful that I was able to grow up with godly parents who taught me to love God's Word and who helped me to understand at an early age that I was a sinner and that Jesus died to take the punishment for my sin and give me a relationship with God. As a teenager, I started writing songs about that relationship. I went to Columbia International University to study elementary education, met and married my husband Bryan, and was blessed with four boys, who are now in their teens and twenties. We live in Greenville, South Carolina, where I have the opportunity to teach art and music to 3 to 5-year-olds (which I enjoy immensely.) Throughout this time, God has continued to put songs in my heart and I have come to see songwriting as an opportunity to help others to focus on Christ--His greatness, His love, His sacrifice, and His Word. I hope these songs will help you to think on Him and the truths of His Word and that you also will share them with others as you have opportunity.
